Our lovely holiday home to let on Warren Bay Holiday Park in Watchet is called Iris Kate. She is a 2017, 2 bedroom static caravan. She has been built to accommodate the needs of mobility impaired people so offers accommodation for everyone.

Because of this she is a little different to standard static caravans:- there is an accessible wet room with a fold down shower seat and grab rails; wider internal doors that are all sliding to allow wheelchair access; and the low threshold front door is reached via a ramp up to the decking, rather than steps. The shower has great pressure and the wet room is designed to be easy clean.

We can let you have a floor plan of the caravan if you want to see what's inside and how she is laid out.

The caravan is fully furnished with everything needed to make her comfortable to stay in. There are four single beds (two in each bedroom) complete with duvets and pillows, and the beds will be made up for you on arrival. There will be tea towels for you to use too, as well as washing up liquid and sponges. We also provide the first two loo rolls for your stay, as well as 'staples' in the kitchen e.g. salt, pepper, stock cubes, a few spices etc.

We do not provide towels, so you will need to bring bath towels, hand towels and (ideally) a bath mat with you.

The caravan has a TV, DVD player and small music centre, along with a selection of DVDS and CDs which you are welcome to use. There are also books on the bookshelves and an assortment of games, including Scrabble and Rummikub. There are a few puzzles and toys for children too.

Outside we have a decking area on the west facing side of the caravan, with a partial view of the sea (the Bristol Channel). The decking has glass screening around it which acts as a wind break. There are sun loungers provided for lazing around outside with a good book and a glass of something nice, plus a small patio table and two outdoor dining chairs.

We have a double parking space immediately in front of the caravan, so if you are coming in 2 cars there is plenty of room. The site rules only allow two cars to be parked on the space at any one time. The parking spaces are level and access to the ramp to the caravan is completely flat for wheelchair users.

Warren Bay Holiday Park is very quiet and there are many people who live there virtually all year round.

About the Area

Our caravan, Iris Kate, is situated at Warren Bay Holiday Park, which is on the edge of the small town of Watchet on the West Somerset Coast. The holiday park is set amongst greenery and is very quiet. Most of the caravans are owned by retired people or families with young children who like the outside life. It is a simple park which has been in the same family for 40 years. It’s very non commercial – there is just a small shop and a laundry area.

The park does have access to its own private beach which, although not sandy, is a great place to explore and go fossil hunting. You should, however, be aware that the site is sloped and the walk down to the beach is via a slipway at the bottom of the site.

Our caravan is situated towards the top end of the site, not far from the small shop and laundry area. The shop opens for limited hours, but the laundry area is open 24/7. The laundry is operated with tokens purchased from the site shop.

There are a lot of wonderful places to visit in and around Watchet and the location is perfect for accessing Exmoor National Park and Somerset and North Devon. If you fancy a day out further south, you can be on the beach in South Devon in about an hour and 30 minutes. The county town of Taunton is only half an hour away. Plus, if you’re a strong swimmer with a lot of stamina you can swim straight across the Bristol Channel to Wales (but if you prefer to drive it only takes just under 2 hours!).

If you’re a steam train fan then Watchet is definitely the place for you, as it’s on the West Somerset Railway heritage line. At 22.75 miles it is currently the longest standard gauge heritage line in the UK, linking Bishop’s Lydeard and Minehead! It is well worth getting a day rover ticket and jumping on at Watchet Station. The scenery is amazing and with a day rover you can get off and on as you please and visit the towns along the route.

In the caravan we have a box which contains tourist information for the local area, tide timetables, restaurant recommendations etc. There is also a guest information folder and a guest comments book which contain further information for you to refer to. We will give you our phone number and be on hand to provide you with any extra advice or help that you need.

Thank you
