About the Area

Amenities on Tummel Valley Holiday Park include a swimming pool, children's play area, restaurant, shop, takeaway, bar with live entertainment, crazy golf and an all-weather sports area. There is also a laundrette and cash point.

Pitlochry (20 minutes by car) has shops, hotels, restaurants and all other amenities. There's also 2 distilleries with tours available, the Pitlochry Festival Theatre which hosts music and drama productions, The Fish Ladder at Pitlochry Dam which has a viewing window where you can see salmon ascend to Loch Faskally, and the annual March into Pitlochry Music Festival - which, as the name suggests takes place in March. In addition, the Pitlochry Highland Games take place on the 2nd Saturday in September and The Enchanted Forest Light and Music show is on during October.

Aberfeldy (20 minutes by car) offers a range of unique shopping experiences; well worth checking out is the community owned and recently renovated art deco Birks Cinema, which shows all current releases and some Art House films.

The village of Kenmore on Loch Tay, also boasts some unique shopping opportunities at the Mains of Taymouth.

The area is also a golfers' paradise with courses within a 20 minute drive, including Blair Atoll, Pitlochry, Strathtay, Dunkeld and Birnam, Aberfeldy and Mains of Taymouth.

Outdoor activities available in the immediate area include riverside walks, fishing for trout, salmon and some very large pike. Pitlochry Angling Club and Loch Rannoch Conservation Association issue visitor tickets.

There are several Munros nearby, including the iconic Schiehallion. There are miles of forest tracks for walking and mountain biking and The Black Wood of Rannoch, part of the original Caledonian forest that once covered Scotland, is a short distance (20 minutes by car).

The area around the village of Kinloch Rannoch has been the location for filming many scenes for the Outlander TV series.

Canoe on the many rivers and lochs and if you are feeling brave all sorts of adventure activities including Highland Fling bungee jump are within easy reach.

Historic sites are everywhere including Blair Castle, Loch Rannoch Clan Trail, Dunkeld Cathedral and 'little houses'. The Crannog on Loch Tay gives an insight into bronze age living.

And finally, well there are many more things to do actually but there is insufficient space - no holiday to Highland Perthshire would be complete without a visit to The House of Bruar; an up market retail outlet with an exceptional food hall.
