This cosy 2-bedroom caravan (for 4 people) is situated on our own private site in a quiet crofting community at Achgarve, Laide, near Gairloch on the west coast of the Scottish Highlands.
From here you can explore the beaches and mountains of Wester Ross; ideal for walking, bird watching, whale watching trips, pony-trekking, golf, fishing, sailing and cycling.
The caravan overlooks beautiful mountains and is just a 10 minute walk from the sea.
The accommodation consists of 2 bedrooms; one with a 4' 6" bed and a second bedroom with two 3' beds. There is also a bathroom, and a well-fitted kitchen/living area with TV/DVD, LPG cooker, fridge, microwave, kettle and toaster.
Bed linen can be provided for a small charge.
The Sheiling Holidays (comprising B&B, self-catering and caravan) is situated 16 miles north of Gairloch and 44 miles from Ullapool. A wide range of meals is available in cafés and restaurants in the local area where you can sample fresh seafood and game. The village of Laide (2 miles away) has a licenced grocery shop.
The caravan is ideal for a relaxing holiday to "get away from it all". You may wish to use it as a base to discover the scenery and wildlife of Wester Ross. There are a variety of walking opportunities in the hills and on the sandy beaches. You can take a boat trip to spot whales, dolphins, seals and sea birds. There are also many Highland craft workshops to visit as part of the 'Arts and Eats Trail', as well as museums at Gairloch and Ullapool. The famous Inverewe Garden draws many visitors with its sub-tropical plantations which flourish thanks to the Gulf Stream.
On clear nights in spring and autumn, you may be lucky enough to see the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) thanks to our 'dark skies'.
We are not far the route of the popular North Coast 500 (also known as Scotland's answer to Route 66) which is a 500-mile circuit around the northern Highlands.
