Location
Lossiemouth is the ‘Jewel of Moray’ while Moray itself is known as the Scottish Riviera due to its milder climate than the rest of Scotland and its long sandy beaches. Lossiemouth was a thriving fishing town and there are lots of things of interest related to this, not least Sea Town which was the original fishing village and located next to the caravan site and the Fishing Museum. The History of Lossiemouth and its suburbs goes back to Celtic times and includes the real King Macbeth who was based here for a while.
If modern warfare is more your thing then RAF Lossiemouth is the most northern RAF base and the only one left in Scotland. It currently operates Tornadoes and Typhoons and will operate the only fleet of new surveillance planes (Nimrod replacement) in the near future.
Further afield, the Speyside Whiskey trail is a short drive away as is Aviemore and the Cairngorms National Park. Golf courses abound in the area, with Lossiemouth's world class courses the icing on the cake. River and Loch game fishing is also in abundance, along with walking and cycling trails.
