About the Area
On Mablethorpe Chalet Park you will find laundry facilities, a convenience store and 2 playgrounds for all ages.
On site is The Tavern pub, with pool tables, arcades and a large park in front so you can drink whilst watching your kids. This has a kids' club, disco, karaoke, bingo and quizzes. The Tavern also does lovely pub food.
There is also take away food on hand, a fish & chip shop and a café, both of which deliver to your door.
From the entrance of the site the beach is a short walk down the road and to the left, up the ramp. This is an award winning beach, which you will discover when you visit, very clean with a sand train taking you from one end to the centre of Mablethorpe.
A 10 minute walk to the left of the entrance when coming out of the site is The Ferry Boat pub, which is open all day long with families welcome. It has inside and outside seating, provides cheap meals and has an arcade attached with bingo where you collect tokens to get better prizes. To the right of this is a car park which also leads on to the beach.
Next to this is The Seal Sanctuary with a reasonably priced entrance fee. Inside are a variety of animals, i.e. meerkats, parrots, monkeys, foxes, ostrich, donkeys, penguins, turtles and seals etc. There are plenty of exhibits and shows throughout the day for the feeding of the animals. There is also a gift shop and on site café with a kids' play area. There is a video played throughout the day describing how they rescue and take care of the animals and eventually release them back into the wild; a very interesting film.
A 5 minute walk to the right is Mablethorpe’s cinema with all latest films; very cheap. On the other side of the road is the sea view car park, which has a café and toilets.
10 minute walk, or 3 minute drive by car or local road train (75p pp), will get you into the main town centre. If you have driven there are plenty of cheap car parks or side road parking. Here you will find lots of shops, arcades, cafés, family pubs, restaurants and supermarkets. There is also an all year round fair with plenty of kids' rides, outdoor kids' play area, indoor kids' play area, crazy golf and much more. In the summer there is a circus which is very cheap.
For the fishermen there are plenty of ponds around Mablethorpe. The pond I fish the most is called Oham Lakes, which is a 10 to 15 minute drive away. This also has a newly refurbished on site café and tackle shop.
