About the Area

The family has enjoyed staying at Whitecliff for fifty years , relishing the beautiful beach and scenery to be found there and to experience the more tranquil life found on the Island. We never tire of the view, the beach, local walks and the many other Island attractions. We are well aware that the Park offers something for all ages. A shop, launderette and hairdressing salon can also be found on site.

The Park is situated on the outskirts of Bembridge and two miles from Brading and Sandown.

The beach is delightful, offering safe bathing, vast tracts of sand at low tide with areas for rock pooling and catching crabs, shrimps and other pool creatures. The family have enjoyed cricket, football, tennis, golf, volleyball and rounders matches on the sands. Be warned - there is no toilet facility on the beach!

On site there is the Nab Bar with a restaurant, open to all, which overlooks the Whitecliff Bay. Excellent meals and snacks are served there ...but guests need to check opening hours. It also has a television, snooker /billiard room and Free Wi-Fi connection. Leading from the Nab Bar is a large grass area where families sit, picnic or play ball games etc. The Park does organize a number of activities including regular open air cinema….you may have to pay for some of the organized activities.

If you wish, you can purchase passes directly from Whitecliff Bay Holiday Park to use the sites additional attractions. These passes give access to an outdoor pool open in high season and an indoor pool open throughout the year with a flume. The price is in the region of /£90 for one peak season week for up to eight passes.. Passes also admit you to the Culver Club with its café, bar and entertainment which includes bingo, cabaret acts and tribute bands, musical shows and children’s spot. Guests should check to see opening hours and weekly programme. I do not deal with the passes and Whitecliff is completely responsible for the programme offered at the Park and opening times of attractions.

The Park caters for families and does not permit 'single-sex groups' to book accommodation.

Locally

There are a number of excellent pubs nearby; Culver Haven next to the monument on top of the Downs ,the Propeller Inn is minutes away, next to the airfield, the Crab and Lobster, Village Inn and Spinaker at Bembridge, the Bargeman’s Rest in Newport , Dairy Man's Daughter and Fighting Cock at Arreton and Schooner Inn at Shanklin all serve good food.

There are many local walks. The walk to Sandown over the Downs provides inspiring views. The coastal path to Bembridge leads to the Crab and Lobster and at low tide round to the lifeboat station and café. Sandown to Shanklin along the promenade is a gentle stroll; make sure you read the names of the huts as you leave Sandown Pier. Other favourite walks include Bonchurch to Ventnor and Seaview back to St. Helens via Priory Bay.

The Island is a tourist’s paradise; from the history of Carisbrooke Castle and Osborne House to the fun packed day at Blackgang Chine, the Needles or Robin Hill Theme Parks. Monkey Haven Amazon Zoo World, Sandown Zoo, Donkey Sanctuary, Butterfly World and Alpaca Farm provide interesting visits.
