Welcome to our 35’ x 12’ Willerby 'Capri' caravan at Sandhills Holiday Park.

Our lovely holiday home is close to a private and secluded beach (Whitecliff Bay). Please note that it is a touch steep and gets you puffing on the return journey!

Our caravan has a comfortable, homely feel and as we still use it for family holidays, don’t be surprised to see the odd family photo! As for everything inside the caravan, our philosophy is quite simple - if you can see use it! (if we don’t want guests to use an item, we lock it away).

The caravan has two bedrooms, one master with en suite (WC and wash basin) along with a double bed double bed, large double wardrobe with a full-size mirror, a chest of drawers and a dressing table with a freestanding mirror and stool. The second bedroom has two single beds, a single wardrobe with drawers and an overbed unit for storage.

We provide a double duvet and two single duvets, along with pillows. Mattress and pillow protectors are also provided. Guests are however, asked to provide their own duvet covets, sheets and pillow cases.

Off the long hallway is the family bathroom, which contains a walk-in shower, WC, wash basin and mirrored wall unit.

The fully equipped kitchen has a full-size cooker and hob, along with a fridge and separate freezer. There is also a microwave, kettle, cafetiere and toaster. The kitchen is fully stocked with various utensils including: cutlery, crockery, pots, pans etc. There is plenty of drinking glassware and usually some under sink cleaning products. There is also a dining table and chairs that seats four. An iron and ironing board are provided, along with a hoover.

The living area has a large picture window with sea views. It contains comfortable seating for four people, a coffee table, 32” digital Freeview TV, digital radio and DVD player. There’s also plenty of throws, a Dyson electric fire, several table lamps and plenty of cupboard space. Feel free to use the oversize binoculars when looking out to sea (you may well need to rest them on the windowsill!).

Double doors open from the lounge onto a large decking area with an open grassed area immediately in front of the caravan. A rattan bistro set of two chairs and a table are provided for a little al fresco dining whilst taking in the fresh sea air or simply enjoying a cold beer or glass of chilled wine. There is a large grassy area, along with parking for several cars. Outside the caravan is a storage unit, which contains beach chairs, a parasol, windbreak, picnic rug, buckets, spades, fish nets, sand toys, balls, bats and more, to make your time on the beach and elsewhere more enjoyable. There are also two sun loungers for sun bathing on the decking or the grassy area by the caravan.

There is a washing line at the rear of the caravan too, with clothes pegs provided.

We ask that you bring your own beach towels, hand towels and tea towels.

Gas and electricity are included in the price.

Wi-Fi is available on the site.

Bookings & Conditions

Unfortunately, the caravan is not suitable for disabled use and has a concrete step into a footwell, then three steps with handrail leading up to the decking, which runs down one side and along the front of the caravan. You can peek at the sea over the caravans in front, and the large expanse of space in front of the van draws you ever closer to the call of the sea. There is also a small wooded copse to the left of the caravan and the laundrette is just past the trees.

The beach is just through a few rows of caravans and there are pathways to follow if you need stability.

Our caravan is strictly non-smoking, as is the decking area. This includes vapes.

Sorry, but no pets allowed – this is a site rule.

The caravan is available from 3pm on the day of arrival and must be vacated by 10am on the day of departure.

A £100 deposit secures your booking and is payable 6 weeks before the date the van is hired.

Location

Sandhills Holiday Park is family owned and somewhere my family having been enjoying for the last 50 years or so!

It is a quiet site with beautiful views of the Solent. There is a coastal footpath which connects with Culver Cliff and onwards to Sandown over the Downs. In the opposite direction is Bembridge; a lovely village with plenty of choice to eat or drink, including a pharmacy, fish shop, Woodford’s award-winning butchers, two Co-Ops and some lovely quaint gift shops.

Sandhills Holiday Park has a well-stocked shop, launderette, post box, Wi-Fi, a telephone box and children’s play area. On Sandhills secluded and private beach are two cafés, which serve hot and cold drinks, snacks, excellent breakfasts (Wonky Café), souvenirs and other beach goods. The beach itself is on a wide bay with lovely sand and rock pools. Remember to check the tides!

The nearest pubs are The Propeller Inn and The Culver Haven, both within walking distance and the latter following the coastal footpath to the top of Culver Cliff where you can also view the WW2 battery.

Our holiday home is located in a beautiful part of the Isle of Wight, close to Bembridge and within walking distance of Sandown, following a lovely scenic walk over the Downs. Close by is Whitecliff Bay Leisure Park with its Nab Bar (open to all and offering drinks and meals) and frequently showing films on the large outdoor screen immediately adjacent on the holiday park green.
