This my own personal holiday caravan for hire on Forest Edge Park next to Matchams Forest. It is well placed, on a good plot, in a quiet cul-de-sac, with two parking spaces and room to BBQ etc.

This my own personal holiday caravan that is well equipped and in a quiet cul-de-sac on Forest Edge Park next to Matchams Forest. It is well placed, on a good plot with two parking spaces and room to BBQ etc.
Forest Edge Park is the quiet part the Oakdene Holiday Park, and therefore benefits from all the facilities available at the bigger park, but without the noise or through traffic. It’s just a 10 minute walk to the main park - or a 2 minute drive.
The caravan has the sun all day on both sides and the front, which gives you an opportunity to sit outside until late into the evening.
On entering, you are in the first part of the kitchen which has a new microwave, new utensils, crockery etc. (sufficient for 6 people), a 4 burner gas cooker/oven, fridge/freezer and plenty of storage space. A vacuum cleaner is provided too as the lounge and bedrooms are fully carpeted.
From the kitchen you overlook the lounge which has a dining space for 6 people and a built-in, curved sofa that seats 6. The sofa incorporates a pull-out double bed too if required. There is a Smart TV (brand new) in the lounge and the site has very fast 5G Wi-Fi available, so you can use any Netflix etc. log in.
The caravan has a gas boiler with proper central heating, with the added benefit of a gas fire in the lounge area. Hot water is provided for the shower etc. from the gas boiler.
Bedroom one has a double bed with cabinets either side, along with table lamps, plus built-in USB ports for your phones etc. This bedroom also has an en-suite toilet and washing facilities. There is a large amount of wardrobe space available in this room too (with built-in coat hangers) along with a dressing table and drawers. A double quilt and pillows are provided, all with protectors fitted.
Bedroom two has two full size single beds. Two single quilts and pillows are provided, all with protectors. There are blankets in the wardrobes too, should the temp drop.
If you wish to sleep 6, we can provide an additional quilt and pillows on request.
Opposite bedroom two is a bathroom with WC, sink and shower.
Bed Linen is NOT provided, so please remember to bring with you. You will also need to bring towels, tea towels and extra pillows.
Terms of Booking
A non-refundable deposit of £100 is required to confirm your booking. The balance must be paid 6 weeks before your start date.
If you are booking within 6 weeks of your start date, full payment will be required upon booking.
A further £100 security deposit will be required, which will be returned after your departure once the caravan has been checked and everything is left as its found, with no loss, damage and/or breakages, or the need for an excessive clean.
** A full refund will be given if on the day of arrival the Government advise against non-essential travel OR The Park is closed due to Covid.
If you cancel for any other reason, or after full payment has been made, only your £100 security deposit will be refunded.
Unfortunately, we are not able to facilitate Stag/Hen parties.
Location & Facilities
As the Park’s facilities and access to them are being updated regularly, its best to look at the Oakdene Shorefield website to show the good facilities they have, which includes a swimming pool etc.
Aside to what the park has to offer, the surrounding areas provide lots of entertainment, hospitality and adventure, coupled with good local access routes.
Firstly, Matchams Forest is just two minutes walk from the park and gives access to several interesting natural areas. These paths can be walked, cycled or horse ridden.
Just a 10 minute drive and you can enjoy a session at the Christchurch Ski Centre, where you can ski, ringo etc. and have lunch on the Alpine Terrace, or breakfast if you get up early.
The Park is situated between Ringwood & Ferndown, only 10 minutes to either one. Ringwood has a range of good pubs and some good restaurants, plus several take aways. The shops here are quaint and worth a visit. Ringwood has a Sainsbury’s, Lidl and Waitrose. It also benefits from an excellent bakers, butchers and wet fish shop. Ferndown is more commercial, but has lots of restaurants and take aways, including an excellent fish & chip shop that delivers to the Park. Supermarkets here include a large Sainsbury’s and Tesco, plus a small Lidl. There are 4 fuel stations within 4 miles. Both locations have a McDonald’s.
Further afield there is Wimborne Minster, which is a quaint village on the Dorset Border.
If you go east you can visit Burley, which is in the New Forest. Once here, you can hire bikes or explore the many parts of the Forest on foot.
From the Park you can reach several different beaches, the most popular being Sandbanks. However, a quick 15 minute trip down the A338 gets you to the heart of Bournemouth. Or take the A31 to the Jurrassic Coastline, which takes about 20/25 minutes.
Mudeford Quay is only a 15 minute drive and makes for a good day trip. Fishing trips and crabbing are available here.

This is an excellent place to base yourself if you like outdoor activities, walking, hiking, cycling etc. or you choose to relax and dine in the many good restaurants in the New Forest or at the beach fronts. Then when you return to the caravan, it’s quiet and relaxing as it away from the park melee.
