World heritage site, four poster bed, cliff top apartment, Wine and Chocs offer, payment on arrival option.

We have tried to create something special at Fossil Shores, our Mediterranean style holiday apartment on Cove Park. It sleeps up to 5 adults and is on the cliff top estate of Pennsylvania Castle, on Portland’s Jurassic coast in Dorset.

Our apartment boasts a four poster bed in bedroom one, along with a sliding door that opens onto the patio area and the breathtaking seaview beyond. Bedroom two has an adult quality bunk bed system with a trundle third bed at the bottom, so can sleep up to three people.

The living room has two reclining armchairs and a three seat sofa. Patio doors from the living room also offers beautiful sea views.

We have made the place as disabled and elderly accessible as possible, including ramped entry. The shower is an over bath version though, but the bath has been lowered as much as possible, with a handrail fitted.

The apartment is centrally heated and fully double glazed. Within the apartment you’ll find a full size hob/oven, and a 43" Smart TV with Freesat connected. Some other items are also Google connected for voice use.

Complimentary wine and chocolates will be in the apartment on your arrival.

Charcoal BBQs are not allowed (even disposable ones) so we have provided an electric teppanyaki grill for your use outdoors. All gas and electricity is included in your holiday rental price.

There is one allocated car sized parking space on site.

Due to Covid-19 we no longer provide laundry packs, so please note that you must bring your own sheets, duvet covers , pillow cases, towels and tea towels. We do provide pillows and quilts, which are fog disinfected and stored for a week after each check out as are the cutlery, glasses and cups.

The apartment receives a full fog treatment during each clean - mattresses are fogged, turned and refogged.

Bookings & Conditions

Booking is direct with the owner, so check in times are more flexible than estate owned units.

The owner will also be available for check in and check out.

Booking is by £100 deposit, with the holiday cost payable on arrival. Your £100 then becomes a cleanliness and damage deposit, which will be returned at the end of your stay (subject to a positive inspection).

Please Note: pets are not allowed as others may have allergies

No stag or hen bookings allowed.

The Penn Estate provides free Wi-Fi by unsecured connection, searchable on your devices.

Location

Portland and the surrounding area of Dorset has an amazing, diverse coastline which is now listed as a World Heritage site.

Outdoor activities abound in the immediate area, from sitting outside the Hayloft Café enjoying the café culture( literally right on our doorstep), to the multitude of water based sports at the Portland sailing academy, site of the 2012 Olympics.

There is something for everyone here, too many to list on here, but a simple web search of discover Dorset will reveal the full potential of the area. Whether your ideal day is spent beach casting or combing for fossils, it's the place to be, without the hassle of foreign travel.
