‘Polkilden’ is our beautiful static caravan to let on the very popular Trevella Holiday Park in Crantock, near Newquay, in North Cornwall. It is modern, spacious, luxurious and has beautiful views over the countryside. Perfect mix of Cornish countryside and Cornish Coast! Idyllic location for couples and families - and of course your dogs too - the dog walks are endless!

Polkilden (retreat by the lake, in Cornish) is situated on a premium pitch located between the lake and reception; close to both children’s parks and the outdoor pool, overlooking countryside. Our field has caravans around the outside with a communal green in the middle.

We have parking for 1-2 cars (or one SUV) leading to gated decking (3 steps with banisters either side). There are EV chargers at reception - guests must not charge their vehicles from our holiday home, it’s is against our terms & conditions.

As you go through the front door you are greeted with a seated coat and shoe rack, and into the open plan living area, comprising an open plan lounge, dining room and kitchen. Going out of the kitchen door, into the hallway, leading to 3 bedrooms (1 double and 2 twin); a family bathroom with walk in shower; plus a separate toilet/basin room. (Perfect for families!!)

The main bedroom has one double bed with a Sealy Gelltec orthopaedic matress (of which we get many compliments about!!), bedside cabinest either side of the bed, a wardrobe and built in vanity unit & stool. The second and third rooms both have two twin beds, with a bedside cabinet dividing the beds and a single wardrobe (the second room has curtains, the third room has Venetian blinds).

The lounge boasts a very comfortable freestanding corner sofa with a TV/DVD player and gas fire. There is no facility for extra sleeping in the lounge in this model, as we have a corner sofa instead.

The kitchen is very well equipped, to include: full size fridge/freezer; gas hob/oven; microwave, toaster and kettle; iron and ironing board, plus a hoover - all can be found in the utility cupboard next to the fridge/freezer.

Polkilden offers full gas central heating and double glazing. We have our own Wi-Fi which is reliable and a good speed, and can be used for an additional cost of £5 per stay. There is no free Wi-Fi provided by the holiday park anymore and 4G can be intermittent/poor during very the busy seasons.

Linen can be hired from our cleaning company for an additional amount (singles £8.50/double £11.50 = £45 for all beds) OR you are welcome to bring your own to lower costs, we provide mattress protectors, 6x pillows and in season duvets (ie lightweight in summer and thick duvets in winter) - 1x double, 4x singles. Please let us know at booking if you'd like to hire linen from our cleaning company - last minute bookings may be more difficult to get linen for you, but we can always try!

Bookings & Conditions are sent to you on completion of deposit. Bookings accepted from couples and families only - we and the holiday park do not accept groups of adults.

Guests staying 5 nights or more will receive a complimentary tea/coffee/biscuits tray. Our cleaners will leave out one bin bag, a washing up sponge and some hand wash, ready for each new guest.

NO SMOKING allowed inside or outside of Polkilden - including decking or alfresco dining area! Candles are not permitted in the caravan, on the decking or near the caravan please.

We will only accept bookings for a maximum 6 guests as we want the quality of accommodation to remain high for all. The lead party must be over 21yrs and we cannot accept all male or all female groups due to the Holiday parks rules. We choose not to accept mixed adult only groups, as the holiday park is very family focused. .

Arrival it after 4pm. Departure is by 10am. Early check ins are not always possible, we discourage them as it gives time for the cleaners & owners to do work in between guests, however, anyone who arrived before the check in time OR departs later than checkout will have £25 deducted from their deposit to cover the extra use of the holiday home, getting our cleaner back to clean (as if they come and your still in the property they will leave as they have a schedule of cleans to get through),and utilities used.

We accept pets, but this depends on how many humans are in your party (we do not want to over populate our holiday home), what breed it is, and pets must not go on the beds or sofas. We prefer you bring their bed/crate, along with their food & water bowls. Pets must NOT be left alone in our holiday home please! We are guided by our holiday park and therefore we do not accept any dogs listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991. If you choose bring your pet, there is a £20 per pet, per stay additional cost.

We require a £200 refundable damage deposit on top of balance which will be refunded after your departure as long as there is no damage, theft, and as long as the caravan is left in the same state as when you arrived - any extra cleaning needed on departure, will be deducted from the damage deposit. If your pet makes any damage, the costs will be deducted from the damages deposit, and anything not covered by that £200 damages deposit you will be expected to covered yourselves.

For bookings further than 6 weeks away we take a £50 deposit on booking to secure the holiday, then the balance (minus £50) and the damage deposit is due 6 weeks before arrival. If booking is less than 6 weeks away, the full balance will be due on booking. Cancellation after paying the balance is paid will incur a loss of the balance.

Whilst staying with us you will have USE of the Holiday Park facilities; outdoor pool (April-sept 2024 season), play parks, crazy golf, 2x lakes, nature trail,
Piskie food truck (morning serving breakfast baps and evening serving burgers, hotdogs, chips, & jacket potato) and a Piskie inn with a small pub garden area, however, we do not take any responsibility for these and cannot guarantee they are open/usable during your stay. The holiday park also now has takeaway food trucks on site at various times in the spring/summer.

In 2023 the government called for all small holiday lets to be fire assessed, we have chosen to be Fire assessed by professionals, and we are pleased to say we comply with the Fire Assessment requirements. We have fire alarms in every bedroom and in the hall way. We have a heat sensor alarm in the kitchen, and we have a carbon monoxide alarms in the lounge and hallway. We also have a fire extinguisher and fire blanket, a fire assessment folder and have and Emergency Exit Plan for guests to follow in case of a fire.

Trevella Holiday Park has an outdoor pool (April - mid September), crazy golf (50p per person), fishing (anglers/rod license required), 3 children’s play parks, a shop, takeaway van selling breakfasts and burgers, hot dogs, chips etcb and a tiny Piske bar on site for our guests to use, along with a laundrette, arcade and we now have food takeaway trucks coming onsite during peak seasons (fish n chips, pizza, desserts)

Crantock beach and the River Gannel is a 20 minute walk from Polkilden through countryside (1 mile), and the Old Albion pub, The Cornishman pub and The Jam Jar restaurant are all nearby in Crantock village, along with a corner shop/post office. The popular Bowgie inn and C-Bay bistro are a little further away in West Pentire. At West Pentire you may be able to visit the famous Poppy fields (May/June) and the Pollyjoke Seals.

Newquay beaches are all 2 miles away from a Polkilden/Trevella.

If you are looking to entertain children there are beaches galore, the gannel offers paddle-boarding hire and/or lessons,Newquay has a Zoo, Trenance Gardens (park, miniature railway, tennis courts etc.), boating lake, there is a giant ‘slip n slide, quad biking, segways all close by Polkilden.

Rick Stein’s restaurant in Padstow, is 25 miles away. Our favourite pub, Smugglers’ Den, is situated in the neighbouring village of Cubert. Watergate Bay has some lovely eateries on the beach and in the hotels.

Newquay has a Morrisons, Asda and Sainsbury’s, plus two Tesco Express, along with several doctors surgeries and chemists.

Newquay has a train station and bus station, but you will need transport (taxis available) from public transport to Trevella. There is also a bus stop outside Trevella that takes you to Newquay or Truro - however we do not have details of the bus service available.Newquay Airport is 9 Miles from Crantock - car hire is available at the airport.

Various local takeaways and restaurants deliver to Trevella Park.
