Kestrel Cottage is a recently built, spacious and substantial cottage situated near Perranporth and Newquay on the North Cornwall coast, with beautiful, unspoilt countryside views.
Of modern construction, the cottage has the atmosphere of much older buildings with thick walls, slate floors and a huge living area with exposed beams. Patio doors open onto a large sunny veranda and the cottage is set in 40 acres of meadowland within a small working farm where a pampered herd of beef cattle, pigs, goats and chickens are kept.
This part of Cornwall is awash with things to do and see, whether you want the surfing beaches of Newquay, the beautiful sailing haven of Fal estuary, the cathedral city of Truro, Land's End, or just to spend a day at the famous Eden Project.
For those that like fishing, there is also a well-stocked, 2 acre coarse fishing lake a few yards from the front door.
Alternatively, your help feeding the animals is bound to be appreciated!
The accommodation comprises of an open plan living space incorporation a modern oak kitchen with slate floors, electric hob, oven, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, microwave and washing machine, plus a dining table to seat six. The living area has a feature fireplace and wood burner, patio doors to the veranda, leather sofas and armchair, a Freeview TV and DVD player.
The master bedroom has a 4ft 6in double bed and en-suite shower room with shower cubicle, hand basin and WC. The two twin bedrooms both have two 3ft single beds.
The family bathroom has a bath, hand-held shower, hand basin and WC.
The patio doors in the lounge lead to a decked veranda with garden table and chairs, with steps down to large lawn bordering the fields. Parking is available for a maximum of two cars.
Bed linen is included in the rental cost, as is a cot, high chair, basket of logs, electricity and central heating (oil). Towels are not provided.
There is no phone provided in the cottage, but the mobile reception is good.
One well-behaved dog is welcome.
